Five ways we use ghee at home every single day
Beyond the tadka: the everyday spoonfuls our own kitchen runs on.
A jar of good ghee is not a special-occasion thing. Here is how ours actually gets used.
On the first roti of the day. Warm, brushed on, nothing else. This is the honest test of any ghee: if it is good, it needs no help.
In the tadka. Ghee has a high smoke point, so cumin and mustard seeds bloom in it without burning. Dal tastes like a different dish.
A spoon in warm milk at night. An old habit in most Indian homes, and still the thing we are asked about most.
For halwa and ladoo. Sooji halwa made in bilona ghee turns a colour you simply cannot get from oil or vanaspati.
Straight, in the morning. Half a teaspoon on an empty stomach. Traditional, simple, and the reason many of our customers first came looking.
